Help with Outlook XP Password Retention

Does anyone know how to solve the problem with outlook 2002 not saving the password for you email accounts, I have read all the advice on this forum and it seems all the answers provided are for previous versions of windows. when i run regedit on vista there is no registry key for HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Protected Storage System Provider so that fix does not seem to be a workaround in this version of windows.. Any one who could help me out on this one it would be appreciated

Windows version?
